The problem

Satellites capture terabytes. Downlinks move megabytes.

Every orbit, sensors generate far more data than ground stations can receive. Raw imagery waits hours for a line-of-sight pass; insights arrive late, or never. Meanwhile AI workloads on Earth are hitting power, cooling and permitting limits.

Aethero moves the computer to the data. We put data-center-class GPUs on the spacecraft, harden them against radiation through system design rather than exotic silicon, and run containerized workloads on them with the same tooling teams already use on the ground. The result: decisions at the moment of capture, and a fraction of the bits to downlink.

Where we are going

A data center in orbit, node by node.

The same NxA card scales through the Space Data Center architecture — 16 cards to a node, 14 nodes to a rack, up to 896,000 TFLOPS per rack — on any bus with the power and thermal budget to host it.

Our approach

Radiation hardening by system design.

Traditional rad-hard processors trail commercial silicon by a decade and cost orders of magnitude more. Aethero takes the opposite path: the latest NVIDIA, Intel and AMD silicon, protected by an architecture built to expect and survive upsets.

  • 01
Rad-hard power and watchdogRadiation-hardened power components, smart power arbitration and a rad-hard watchdog co-processor supervise the COTS compute.
  • 02
Resilient memory and storageResilient memories, BTRFS/ZFS filesystems, RAID and checkpointing with a custom error-detection-and-correction stack.
  • 03
Shielding where it countsRadiation shielding built into the compute modules — shielding layers between the cards and the enclosure, sized with Ansys simulation and verified test-as-you-fly.
  • 04
Software-level SEE mitigationECM-OS and MCU-RTOS are thin, headless and designed around single-event-effect recovery, with hypervisor and container isolation.

Flight heritage

Three missions in two years.

Every product is space-qualified through stringent environmental testing, then proven on orbit before it ships to customers.
